A quiet checklist for Daegu cloud teams

Notes from Yulha-dong · ~7 min

Planet Earth at night with city lights

Our studio sits at 210-9, Yulha-dong; Dong-gu; Daegu; Korea. Neighbors run logistics APIs, campus platforms, and quiet SaaS products that wake up when Seoul is already mid-meeting. This checklist grew from their habits.

Before Friday deploys

  • Confirm which region’s p95 you will watch first — do not default to the global blend.
  • Set soft alerts for the evening, hard alerts only for customer-visible SLIs.
  • Name an on-call buddy who is not traveling for Chuseok or a wedding weekend.

Timezone honesty

If your primary customers are domestic, label dashboards in KST without apology. Dual clocks help remote teammates; dual unlabeled axes help nobody. Application analytics should match the calendar people actually live.

Keep the ritual small

Once a month we invite local learners for tea and a single metric review. No slides. Bring a screenshot and a question. That is enough cloud performance monitoring culture for a Tuesday.
